This interview was published on the series blog <\/strong>Guia de Seriados<\/strong><\/a> on April 28, 2012 (currently the news link is no longer available, so I reproduced the news here).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hello everyone, my name is Rem\u00e9dio and I went to represent the Guide at\npress conference for the series The Big Bang Theory, which took place in\non 4\/5\/2011, in S\u00e3o Paulo, and included the participation of Johnny\nGalecki, Kunal Nayyar and Simon Helberg. To facilitate understanding of the\ntext I will refer to the actors by their character names, which sounds\nmore familiar to everyone. As for the images, just click to enlarge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to some problems with our dear (argh) TB I was invited to\n I was in a hurry and that's why I wasn't prepared to write down questions and ask\ndecent coverage. The few photos are from a camera I took\nborrowed on the run. (Editor's Note (TB): The press conference was at 11am,\n my car broke down at 8:30 am, I couldn't get another car in time, and when\nI saw this creature on MSN at 10:15 am and I thought \u201cit\u2019s you, you idler\u201d, and\n I was happy he agreed<\/em>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, initially the chosen location was the Hotel Emiliano, very good\nby the way, and the organization of the event was very good, staff very\npolite and helpful. Arriving at the hotel, I entered the access ramp to the\nparking and I kind of did a tour<\/em> until reaching the press conference room. It was a small room, for about 60-70 people, many bloggers were present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The opening was very simple, being done by Elaine (woman sitting\non the sofa on the left, in the photo above), from Warner, who announced them and soon\nafter entry it was opened for questions. There wasn't a speech or anything\nsimilar neither on the part of the actors nor the production. The actors' entrance\noccurred with the opening song of the series being played in the background. When\nThe actors entered and sat down on a sofa, where they would stay until the end.\nend of the press conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remembering the sofa, there was a moment when a person made a\nquestion and ended with a simple one for Leonard about what\nSheldon would think he was sitting in his place. At this moment Leonard\n makes that characteristic face of disapproval and moves a little towards\n the side, next to Howard, leaving an empty place at the end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Questions not directly related to the series were blocked,\n including one that many of us would like to know, their position\nin relation to Chuck Lorre after the latest events related\n to Charlie Sheen. (Editor's note (TB): I passed this question\nfor Remedio, but he didn't have the opportunity to introduce her, since\nsomeone else ended up being blocked first<\/em>) After this question was blocked, Raj joked and said, with a serious expression on his face: \u201cBut who is Charlie Sheen?<\/em>\u201d. And after that they added: \u201cWe didn\u2019t come to Brazil to talk about Charlie Sheen\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As strange as it may seem, a question about which series\nactors watching was banned, as it did not make direct mention of the series. In\n There were moments when the actors would respond something, but they stopped because\nthey received a signal that was not allowed or something like that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes, Raj also joked that the previous night in S\u00e3o Paulo\nit had been great, and that he loved the city (despite it seeming to be\nsleeping in the photo above).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Howard also joked about him being too handsome for the series, that sometimes they asked him to be less handsome and such.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many questions were asked, and many of them wanted to know if the\nactors felt more nerdy or geeky for being part of this type of\nshow. They always responded that not much, that one or the other was more\nnerd, but they were normal, the nerd part of the series was behind, in the\n writers and consultants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They were asked if they understood all the jokes, and they replied that\n sometimes not, that along with the text the writers had to\nexplain why that was funny. And also that often the\nWriters\/consultants themselves put some hidden jokes in the\nwalls or on blackboards, at this point Howard also mentioned: \u201cSometimes\n consultants make a joke that their friends would laugh at, but\nNobody here understands.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think the funniest question was whether, over the course of the series,\nsomeday Howard and Raj would admit their gay love\u2026 hahaha. They\nThey denied it, they said it was a deep friendship and that it wouldn't go beyond that.\nMostly Raj said no, Howard was just smiling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They also made a comparison with the beginning of the series, in which everyone is\n single and are now finding their way out, would that change the situation a little?\ndirection of the story, whether this was being forced or not and they responded\n who didn't, who saw it more as a natural course for the characters and\nsomething like relationships are always evolving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another question was about the beginning of the series being based on a\nmore nerdy humor, with jokes related to science, comic books,\nfiction, and now that seems to have changed a little. The answer from\nLeonard was that he didn't see it that way, that there was still humor\ninitial, that this humor is like the basis of the series and that it is behind\neverything, an answer confirmed by the other two actors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They also commented on the beginning of the series itself, whether they thought\nwould be this resounding success and how they saw themselves in this scenario. With\nRegarding the beginning, Raj said that reading the initial script, even though it was\nfunny, I didn't expect a result like this, that being doing the\nseries is very good, after all they are normal people, they are actors doing\n your job. Howard remembered his selection process, which was something\nas the second test pilot (that's what I understood) and that he arrived with the\n hair that was a hit in the series and also with one of his pants\ncharacteristics and then, after the rehearsal, the producer arrived and said \u201cWow,\nThis is one of the nerdiest things I\u2019ve ever seen!\u201d Then Howard let out a\nto the audience as if he were on top: \u201cBut that\u2019s exactly why\nthat I came with her.\u201d Haha ha. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another question was related to the actors\u2019 position in relation to the\nEmmy Awards and other similar awards, and if you would like to win one\nnext Emmy. This was Raj who responded, he said that winning an award is\n always good, but their work is not done based on\nthese awards, that they always work hard. And regarding the Emmys\nthey would first need to be nominated, and again he said that the\nAwards are not what guide their work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They also asked if we would ever see Howard's mother and they\nthey said probably not, and Howard added that it would be very\ndifficult to find someone to personify her, after all she would have to be\nfat, short, maybe a mustache, a huge belly, which would be better\nleave it to the imagination of the viewers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After another question about how they feel compared to nerds, the\n Leonard responded that real nerds are the most successful in life\nreal, such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and even Barack\nObama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The quietest one was Leonard, he seemed more serious too, despite the\ntwo others always made a joke about him and then the three\nthey started to laugh.
\nAt one point, Leonard laughed out loud when Howard compared Raj to a famous person from abroad (I don't remember who).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the event, all participants were invited to stay\nfor lunch, but as I couldn't, I left. At the exit of the hotel\nmet the actors outside and some people in a queue to\ntake photos and receive autographs. At this moment it seemed to me to be free\nfor the public to enter this queue. An interesting point that I saw and didn't\nDid you know that Leonard is a smoker? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, because I made a mistake, I didn't stay to take a photo with them, I just took some final photos of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
