Open Air Dream
Well, I've always liked Open Air cases, and also small cases. I've been thinking about putting some ideas into practice for a long time, and this time everything worked out!
Initially I used the pieces from the old Little Titan, which are great by the way. I just moved some things around, but the hardware itself remains the same.
In this case I used a support part from the Lian Li Pitstop T1, a motherboard fixing part (made of aluminum) from an old case, and built the support bases for the entire system.
The base is made of MDF wood, 30cm in diameter. “Furniture legs” made of aluminum are fixed to it. In this part I used the center of the Lian Li (removing the suspended legs and inverting the font, so that the space was more condensed). This part in Anodized Red (which came from Lian Li) allows you to install the power supply, a slim optical drive and also a 3.5″ HD. On the side of the source I installed two SSDs (configured in RAID-0).
The aluminum motherboard support needed to be done because the Lian-Li did not support large video cards, so it would be stuck and forcing the motherboard connectors. I needed to cut the aluminum into Mini-ITX format (since the base of the old case used was Micro-ATX) and paint it black.
The NES (Nintendinho 8bits) control is responsible for turning the PC on/off, resetting the PC, and is also a USB Hub! In addition, it also has lights indicating On/Off and HDD operation. In this case I bought the control, removed the original logic board and adapted the USB hub internally. I also used the A and B buttons for efficient PC operation (the Start, Select and Directional buttons were unused during the adaptation).
In the end, I really liked the project, again a compact, silent and very beautiful case. The only thing is that, because it is Open Air, you need to be very careful with liquids and always clean so that dust does not accumulate.
Oh! Darth Vader protects the source's output...
Yoda helps the video card maintain its “Strength”…
